When the stock market behaves like it did last week, I say to myself:  what’s going to happen to food?  I don’t mean from a serious CPI-oriented perspective.  We know meat, pork and chicken are on the sharp rise.  And seafood will surely be next given the devastating oil spills.  I meant more from an average person standpoint.  I love food.  I enjoy cooking.  As a dining services provider, we are in the business of doing both.  So, my thoughts are more along the lines of…value.  Value is a trend in and of itself, right?  That was the answer to our “research” earlier this year. And what says “value” any louder than a grilled cheese sandwich.

I stumbled across this video (just shot a few days ago).  The Inside-out Grilled Cheese.  38,062 views and 7 pages of comments already!    What’s your opinion?  Is there only one cheese?

By the way…Happy (belated) Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month (April is better known as Parkinson’s Awareness Month, as it should be).  Clearly, the people boasting a top 10 (in 2009) grilled cheese think there’s room for creativity, like calling a pretzel or a breakfasty-looking-quesadilla-panini a grilled cheese sandwich.
