July 20, 2010 I love New York! I know it’s cliché, but there really is something about the city that’s like no other in the world. I recently had an opportunity to spend several days soaking up all the city has to offer. The folks I went with are fellow foodies, so we had a great time restaurant hopping for three days. Several posts back I talked about my love affair with beef short ribs, and wasn’t disappointed by Bouchon! That night they offered Red Wine Braised Beef Short Rib Sliders with Housemade Thousand Island Dressing & Dill Pickles. They were AMAZING! The rolls were just fantastic-soft on the inside with great texture & shine on the outside. The sweet-savory of the dressing combined with the dill pickles added a depth of flavor to the succulent short ribs that was absolutely perfect. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup were also incredible. He’s taken a combination, rich in tradition, to the next level. I must say, it was one of the best meals I’ve had. My only regret is that we didn’t try the chocolate souffle!
